Because of GERMFREE’s stainless steel fabrication expertise and intimate knowledge of airflow dynamics, custom-designed stainless steel fume hoods are available to meet your specific needs.
GERMFREE’s custom stainless steel fume hoods are all-welded type 316L stainless steel with radiused bends. They are ideal for use in cleanrooms, pathology suites, food processing areas or any environment in which frequent wash downs are required and a non-shedding, corrosive-resistant material is needed. For increased chemical resistance the stainless steel can be Halar® coated.
Ductless Fume Hoods:
Ductless fume hoods provide wide spectrum filtration for finite quantities of
non-explosive solids, liquids and gases, thus eliminating the need for venting and expensive ductwork. This system is ideally suited for laboratories with industrial applications where the exact quantity and concentration of chemicals are known. Ductless fume hoods are not recommended for most research applications. (A thorough risk assessment should be performed before authorizing use of a ductless fume hood.)
Class 100/ISO 5 Fume Hoods (Cleanroom):
The laminar flow fume hood combines features of a vertical laminar flow cleanbench and biosafety cabinet with that of a fume hood. This versatile piece of equipment can solve many difficult, and sometimes conflicting, air quality requirements. Laminar flow fume hoods allow the handling of products that must be kept particle free, while effectively keeping hazardous and noxious particulates and gases from personnel.
Explosion-Proof Fume Hoods:
All models of GERMFREE fume hoods can be made explosion-proof to meet up to Class I, Division I specifications.
Exhaust Filtration Systems:
Air filtration systems are available in a wide range of types, sizes and configurations. Equipment selection is based upon the degree of particle or gas removal required, quantity and characteristics of the space containing the contaminants, and intended application.
GERMFREE has developed a High Containment Filtration System for hazardous materials where fail-safe redundant exhaust air filtration is necessary. These systems provide the proper filters and airflow required to remove hazardous materials.

Source Capture Filtration Systems:
Many procedures produce a point source of gas and/or particulate contamination. The SC (Source Capture) line of extraction systems, coupled with enclosures or extraction arms, provide the greatest flexibility of configurations for the complete capture of contaminants from localized areas. These portable self-contained air filtration systems remove common contaminants generated by laboratory, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, electronic and assembly processes.
