FACILITY COMPONENTS

From individual components to complete integration, Germfree will work with you to meet all of your containment needs.

FACILITY COMPONENTS:

Chemical Dunk Tanks:

Chemical dunk tanks are available in a variety of configurations and materials.

  • Side mount with drain constructed of coated 316 stainless steel
  • Bottom mount with drain
  • Sliding bottom mount to conserve space

Dunk tanks are all-stainless steel coated with HALAR® or can be made from high density plastics or fiberglass.

Airlocks:

Airlocks are also known as:

  • Ante-chambers
  • Pass-through chambers

Airlocks can be any size and equipped with the following:

  • Windows
  • Sliding trays
  • Gloveports
  • Interlocks
  • HEPA purge filtration (continuous HEPA purge or PLC controlled cycle)
  • Three and four door applications directly into BSC or wall
  • PLC control (Interlocks and purge cycle)
  • Piping and ports for independent decontamination
  • Chain of custody port

Rapid Transfer Ports

Incorporated in a wall mount or cabinet mount (Class II BSC, Class III BSC or other cabinets), the containers provide a safe and easy method for moving materials, supplies and waste without breaking containment. The containers come in various sizes and can be locked to meet requirements for Select Agent storage and to facilitate chain of custody transfer and reporting.

RTPs come in a variety of sizes (diameters and lengths) and are made from stainless steel or high density plastic.

Through-Wall Embeds:

Through-wall embeds are equipped with seamless bioseals and gaskets to prevent ingress and egress of contaminants.

Examples of Through-wall embeds include:

  • Class III BSC through-wall
  • RTPs (Rapid Transfer Ports)
  • Autoclaves
  • Airlocks
  • Chemical dunk tanks

Exhaust Filtration Systems:

Air filtration systems are available in a wide range of types, sizes and configurations. Equipment selection is based upon the degree of particle or gas removal required, quantity and characteristics of the space containing the contaminants, and intended application.

GERMFREE has developed a High Containment Filtration System for hazardous materials where fail-safe redundant exhaust air filtration is necessary. These systems provide the proper filters and airflow required to remove hazardous materials.

GERMFREE’s application engineers can recommend a system targeted to the demands of your specific operation.

HVAC Filter Banks

GERMFREE-designed and built HEPA filter banks are used to filter both inlet and exhaust air to meet high containment laboratory requirements. The filter units, containment area, Class III BSC, and HVAC system are isolated with bubble-tight valves and plumbed to accept paraformaldehyde gas, VHP and, ClO2, for targeted decontamination processes. HEPA housings are located to facilitate easy filter replacement and are equipped with Bag-Out flanges to safely contain and remove HEPA filters. The building automated system and microprocessor controlled variable air volume dampers and valves control the pressure, airflow, temperature and humidity in the antechamber and room. These electronic systems are backed up with visual airflow indicators.

Options include integration of a back-up emergency generator. Carbon filtration and monitoring systems are also available.
