Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC):
Made with superior materials, our all welded stainless steel Class I, II, and III Biological Safety Cabinets are engineered, designed and fabricated to provide the highest level of personnel, product and environmental safety.
Our specialty is custom solutions when standard “off the shelf” products are not suitable for your application or demanding environment.
The Class I BSC is a ventilated cabinet with an inward airflow and outlet HEPA filters. Class I BSC are similar to fume hoods and provide personnel and environmental protection from particles. They do not provide product protection. Read More...
Class II BSC (types A and B) are laminar flow cabinets that protect personnel, product and environment from particles and aerosols. They provide inward airflow to protect personnel, downflow HEPA filtered air to the work area to protect the product, and exhaust HEPA filtered air to protect the environment from particulate and aerosol hazards. Class II BSCs are designed to handle low to moderate risk material and should never be used for unknowns or other high risk materials.
Class III BSC provide the highest level of personnel, product, and environmental protection from hazardous biological agents. They are defined as gas-tight chambers with a sealed viewing window. Manipulation of hazardous materials is performed through sealed gloves. Personnel protection is provided by having a physical barrier between the laboratorian and their work at all times and by an internal negative pressure differential where any leaks would leak into the cabinet and away from the user. Product protection is provided by inlet HEPA filtration and environmental protection is assured by double HEPA filtration and exhaust to the outdoors. Read More...
